Our Commercial Insurance Specialties

The core coverages Colorado contractors and small businesses are asked for — and the guidance to know which ones you actually need.

General Liability

Covers: third-party bodily injury, property damage, and products & completed operations arising from your work.

Typically required before a GC will let you on site.

Workers' Compensation

Covers: medical costs, lost wages and employer liability for on-the-job injuries.

Required in Colorado as soon as you have employees.

Commercial Auto

Covers: liability and physical damage on owned, hired and non-owned vehicles.

Personal auto policies exclude most business use.

Builders Risk & Contractor Bonds

Covers: the structure while it's under construction, plus license, bid, performance and payment bonds.

Often required by the owner, lender or public entity on the job.

Professional Liability

Covers: claims that your professional advice, design or specification caused a financial loss.

Matters most for design-build, consulting and spec work.

Cyber Liability

Covers: breach response, data restoration, funds-transfer fraud and business interruption.

Increasingly asked for in contracts and by lenders.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to what contractors and small business owners ask us most.

What kinds of businesses do you insure?

Mostly Colorado commercial contractors — roofers, general contractors, plumbers, electricians and residential remodelers — along with other small businesses in Colorado Springs and across the state. We also handle personal lines for our commercial clients and their families.

How do I get a quote?

Call (719) 286-9425 or send us your details through the contact page. We'll tell you exactly what the carriers need — usually payroll, annual receipts, a schedule of vehicles or equipment, and any loss runs — then market it and walk you through the differences.

How fast can I get a certificate of insurance?

Most requests go out the same business day. Send the holder's exact name and address, plus any additional insured, primary and non-contributory, or waiver of subrogation wording your contract calls for, and we'll match it.

Do I need workers' compensation in Colorado?

Generally yes — Colorado requires coverage once a business has employees, including part-time and family. Sole proprietors and certain officers can reject coverage for themselves, but most general contractors will still want a policy or a signed rejection on file before you start work. We'll walk you through which applies to you.

How do I file a claim?

Call us first at (719) 286-9425. We'll report it to the carrier, get you the claim number and the adjuster's contact information, and stay involved until it's resolved. After hours you can report directly to your carrier and let us know the next morning.
